The mission of the Production
Engineering Graduate Program is:
to generate, to search, to systematize, to diffuse, and to transfer
scientific, technological, and cultural knowledge related to the field
of the Production Engineering.
The MA degree of the Production
Engineering Graduate Program began in March 1969. It was fully accredited
by the Conselho Federal de Educação, as established by regulation
number 302/79 from March, 7th 1979, included in the process number 1.151/76
of the Câmara do Ensino Superior of the UFSC.
In 1989, with the creation
of the Doctorate degree in Production Engineering, the Graduate Program
was restructured in order to meet the needs of the market and, above all,
to keep up with the frequent technological developments.
In 1991, as a result from
a series of seminars carried out by the teaching body and the student body
together, the program of the Graduate Program suffered an ample reformation.
New propositions were added to the internal rule resulting in, among other
gains, the creation of new degree programs, thus confirming the positive
concept that our Graduate Program enjoys in Brazil and abroad.
The Graduate Program in Production
Engineering at UFSC is offered to over 900 MA and Doctorate students in
Florianopolis.
In addition, it offers specialization
degrees in other cities as São Luis (MA), Fortaleza (CE), Londrina
(PR), Pelotas (RS), Blumenau, Joinville, Tubarão,
Itajaí, and Chapecó (SC), among others, and develops advanced
research programs together with private companies and institutions in Brazil.
Thanks to its high academic
production and quality our Graduate Program has obtained the highest accreditation
grade (A) in the biannual assessments of the Ministério da Educação
(Ministry of Education) performed by CAPES. National research sponsoring
agencies like the CNPq, FINEP, FBB and international agencies like the
OAS have certified such high academic performance.
