ABSTRACT

The problem's resolution process becames better with experience. People know that remind past problems helps to solve new ones.

This tesis present case based a model of information process pf the operator's cognitive activity while controling distribution and maintenance of electrical power. It was developed at CELESC (Centrais Elétricas de Santa Catarina). At the workplace different criteria was defined to "trace" the operator's knowledge and actions, under a perspective of developing an operator's cognitive behavior model.

Dynamic simulation represent the intentions and the knowledge at the operation control. It is realized with the cognitive and physical behavior observation, under the ergonomy point of view.

The model was developed usin Artificial Intelligence technicques, the Apllied Psicology and Engenieering, in a way that this interaction reflects the sinergism of the different theories of the cognitive sciences.

Memory, learnig and dianostic were used in this simulation with the objective of manifest the steps at the operator's problem solving, that generates new cases and situations from their experience.

The experiments showed that a new information structure is necessary, because it generated a lot difficulties for the operators.

With verbalization we learn about the operator's mental activity. This way was always used at the task executin. States, characteristics and explanations were determinated to represent the system's knowlegde structure.
